The National Motocross Championship starts on the 25th of April in Alqueidão.
The return of the national motocross championship to the tracks is coming soon (April 25th) and will reveal many news. Due to the pandemic that affected the entire 2020 season and conditions the normality of the 2021 season, the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation was forced to readjust the modality calendar and even the format of the discipline competitions.
One of the big news will be the joint holding of the national competitions with the regional rounds, in the south with MX Ribatejo and in the north with Penta-Control and the North Trophy. This measure aims to ensure that organizations carry out their tests even without an audience, which is important for the 'accounting' of all events. The joint calendar will be announced shortly.
The public should be 'outside' the venues at least during the first half of this year 2021, but the championship will still have an audience, keeping in 2021 the coverage of the events in 'streaming', re-editing a successful bet and format already seen over the past year. All championship events can be followed on the Youtube channel of the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation.
Important for the drivers will also be the return of the Polisport Challenge, which will distribute a global cash prize of 1750 euros to the first classified in the Elite 2021 class, a prize to which is also added the offer of 'packs' with official Red Bull products to the best MX2 Junior class riders and the best rookies in the same class.
Unfortunately, this calendar does not include the 50cc, 65cc and 85cc classes and will be revealed as soon as decisions regarding the sporting practice of younger athletes are communicated by the government authorities.
