SCHEDULE
1. Change ignition spark mode:
Press the button 6 times and the display will show “1P1r” and then the hour meter will enter cycle programming mode. If this mode is the correct engine spark mode, continue to press and hold the button until the display shows “0.0”, if not, continue to press the button alternately until it shows the desired mode.
CAUTION:
Most off-road motorcycles use the default configuration (1P1r) which is already programmed by default.
Motorcycles with battery or lighting, normally use two spark ignition per cycle (2P1r)
-1P1r: indicates that the hour meter is set to 1 spark per 1 cycle
-1P2r: indicates that the hour meter is set to 1 spark for 2 cycles
-2P1r: indicates that the hourmeter is set to 2 sparks per 1 cycle
(If your RPM reading is twice what it should be in idle mode, you need to select “2P1r”)
2. To view the maximum engine RPM:
Press the button 5 times and the display will show “2 RPM”, this is the maximum speed reached by the engine.
You can reset this value by pressing the button until it shows “0.0”.
INSTALLATION:
1. Choose the location for the cable (included in the kit) to reach from the hour meter to the spark plug wire.
On motorcycles, you must mount the hour meter on the chassis reinforcement, close to the T-steerer with 2-sided tape or with the screws (included in the kit).
CAUTION: DO NOT MOUNT THE HOUR METER WHERE THE SURFACE EXCEEDS 125°F / 50°C
2. If you choose to attach with screws, DO NOT DRILL THE GASOLINE TANK, ENGINE CRANKCASE OR LIQUID RESERVOIRS. If in doubt, contact your local dealer.
3. Thread the wire through the holes in the hour meter (see figure 4). Secure the hour meter to the mounting surface with tape or screws. Route the wire from the hour meter to the spark plug wire and wrap it around the spark plug wire (see figure 1 or 2). If the engine has a pencil/stick type ignition coil/pipe, wrap the wire of the hour meter around the coil dust cap that sits on top of the spark plug. Test the installation by the hourglass icon on the hour meter, if it is blinking, it is installed correctly. Cut the remaining wire.
